ABOUT US
“The goal of Neuro-Somatic Therapies is for clients to reach a calm and centered, yet fresh and energized state in their lives.”
Meet Parvin Naficy, PSY.D.
Why I love what I do:
Of Persian decent, I have naturally been influenced by my culture and the family of medical practitioners I was raised in. I so prided myself of my grandfather’s legacy of scholarship in traditional Persian medicine and his reputation for charitability and honor. I have been very drawn to this style of healing where the well-being of my clients will always be my first consideration.
At the age of ten, I experienced a fall on my head from a 5 foot ledge onto a concrete landing. The impact of this fall left me dealing with relatively mild effects of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Although my condition was not as serious as many, this made me conscious and sensitive to the suffering of what different mental conditions create. Later in life, this led me to the quest for understanding the inner workings of the brain and how I could help others heal.
In my search, I became aware of the benefits of Neurofeedback, craniosacral therapy, movement therapy, balanced diet, Polarity Therapy, art therapy, yoga, meditation, and sound and aromatherapy techniques and studied them extensively. To get more rounded as a practitioner, I got a Doctorate in Psychology, became a certified Yoga instructor and a Registered Polarity Therapist. I integrate most these modalities as needed in a typical session to forward clients’ health towards optimal performance and longevity.
